Watch the film Another Day of Life, about the Polish journalist Ryszard Kapuscinski and his experiences during the Angolan Civil War before you work on the tasks below.

Summarise:

Write a summary of the story of the film Another Day of Life. The summary should be no more than 250 words.

  1. Why do you think the film is called Another Day of Life?
  2. What is achieved by mixing animation and documentary interviews in the film?
  3. How did Ryszard Kapuscinski send his stories to his newspaper in Poland? Would a journalist working in a warzone today do it differently?
  4. This film is based on Ryszard Kapuscinski's book about his experiences in Angola. Does the use of animation make it less believable as a true story?
  5. Would you want to be a war correspondent after watching the film? Give reasons for your answer.
