To celebrate the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta in June 2015, Parliament launched a UK-wide event called LiberTeas encouraging people across the UK to take a moment to celebrate, debate or reflect on what liberty means to them. Watch the following video to hear people list a number of rights that we often take for granted, but which are very important to our everyday lives.
What do you think?
Now it's your turn. To set the scene, let's imagine that a camera crew from the UK has taken the trip to Norway to find out what liberties Norwegian teenagers value or appreciate the most.
- Take some time to first think make a list of the different kinds of liberties that are important to you.
- Now try to prioritise your list and narrow things down to the two most important liberties. Write a short comment to these two, explaining what they mean to you.
- If you have time, organise into groups and act out the interviews, using the video as an example. You could even record it and make your own video!
