Poetry is a powerful means of expression. In just a few lines, a poem can express feelings that are complex, compelling and universal.
Scaffolding
If I were a house
shored up like this
with ancient scaffolding
the threat of bars for windows,
damp roof and door of tin,
would you take the time
to walk into my face,
to move from room to room
and find the quiet space
where I begin?
Would you be tempted
to come in?
