Campaign for Climate Change
To learn more about climate change, we recommend that you watch the documentary "Wind of Change" here on NDLA. It follows Kisilu Musya, a Kenyan farmer and father of seven children, who shares his family’s struggle against the consequences of climate change.
Divide into groups and follow this step by step guide to designing and planning a social media campaign that will raise awareness about the impact of climate change.
Step 1: Goal and Content
What is it that you want to promote? A video? An event? Statistics and information? A competition?
And what is the overall goal or aim of your campaign? What is it that you want to and realistically can achieve?
Step 2: Target audience
Who is your target audience? Where, or through which channels, will you connect with them?
Step 3: Attention Grabbers
How are you going to grab people's attention and get them to listen?
Step 4: Hashtags and Creating a Community
Create a unique hashtag for your campaign. Make sure to check that it isn't already in use online.
Step 5: Pitch Your Idea!
'To pitch an idea' means to describe and present your idea in a way that persuades someone to agree with you and support you.
As a group, pitch your marketing campaign to the teacher, your class or a pretend panel of wealthy investors!
