Health and Safety in the Construction Industry

The construction industry is considered a high-risk industry. It accounts for 22% of fatal injuries to employees in the UK. However, there has been a marked reduction in the number of fatalities over the last 20 years; 49 in 2011, reduced from about 125 in 1990/91. There were also 74,000 cases of work-related ill health in 2011. ( Statistics - Construction Industry UK)
